A comprehensive redevelopment project has successfully transformed the site of the former Klaipėda football school and swimming pool into a modern sports complex. The project was completed in multiple phases, including the renovation of the football school stadium, sports fields, a multifunctional building, and surrounding infrastructure.
Phase one: The old swimming pool was demolished, making way for a two-story building designed for sports school activities, an open youth space, and community events. A partial parking lot was also constructed, and the surrounding infrastructure was improved.
Phase two: Worn-out sports facilities were removed, and modern sports fields were installed, including a football stadium with two reinforced concrete stands, additional training fields, green spaces, outdoor fitness equipment, and recreational areas. The removed trees were replanted, and the area was upgraded with new lighting and fencing. The stadium now accommodates 1,156 spectators, with 908 seats in the main field and 248 in the training field stands.
Phase three: The final phase focused on completing the parking areas. This project stands as a great example of repurposing existing infrastructure to create a modern sports and community hub that meets today’s needs.
